I began my medical career in Philadelphia where I attended Jefferson Medical College and developed a strong interest in surgery. I completed my residency in General Surgery at the University of Maryland in downtown Baltimore where I was introduced to the field of cancer surgery by several of my mentors.
Following that I was accepted into a very competitive 3-year fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Arthur G. James Cancer Center at Ohio State where I was trained by some of the best surgeons in the field. Developing a strong interest in breast cancer, I spent two years in a research laboratory studying the effects of hormones on breast cancer development and progression.
Once I finished my training, I was recruited to stay on as a surgical oncologist at Ohio State where I practiced for a decade. Always interested in advancing my field, I developed and participated in many breast cancer clinical trials and helped many medical device companies take their new technologies to market. I published much of this work in medical journals and have authored more than 50 publications.
Between 2004 and 2010 my focus shifted toward the development of a medical device which involved filing patents, raising capital, developing a commercial product, manufacturing and marketing the finished products. It was quite a journey living in Sydney, Zurich, and Texas during that time. Our small start-up company was sold to a large public company where I worked for a short period of time before returning to my passion of breast cancer surgery.
I have been treating patients with breast cancer in Georgia since 2012. My practice has been solely dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer. My philosophy of a personalized approach to breast cancer treatment allows my patients to participate in the decision-making process. I continue to work on new techniques and technology in an effort to make further progress in the fight against this disease.
I currently practice a Memorial Health in Savannah, GA
if I’m not working, I spend my time enjoying a passion for fishing, boating, and traveling with my wife.
